The Global 8000 is the fastest business jet flying and the one with the longest published range: 8,000 nautical miles, with a top speed Bombardier puts at Mach 0.95. The first aircraft entered service on 8 December 2025, so in 2026 every conversation about buying one is really about new aircraft, delivery positions or converted Global 7500s, not about a used-jet listing.

For a Gulf principal the appeal is easy to state. Riyadh to Los Angeles is 7,160 nm great-circle and Doha to Los Angeles 7,190 nm. Those are the routes where a Global 7500 or a Gulfstream G700 works near the edge of its book figure. The 8000 moves them into the plannable column, and it does so with the same four-suite cabin the 7500 already offers.

Below: the Gulf missions that change, price, the conversion route, our checks, and registration and VAT in the four markets we cover.

Global 8000 range from Riyadh, Jeddah and Doha

Most flying from the Gulf to Europe or Asia never needed 8,000 nm. A Global 7500 already covers Riyadh to New York with room left over. The extra reach earns its keep on the long westbound legs, where winter headwinds eat the margin, and on Australia. We still treat any leg within about 10% of range as a mission to plan with the operator, not a promise.

Cabin altitude deserves a line too. Bombardier quotes 2,691 ft at 41,000 ft, the lowest figure it gives for any production business jet, and on a sector that runs past twelve hours that is what the principal notices when stepping off.

Global 8000 price: new order or converted 7500

Bombardier announced a US$78,000,000 list price when it launched the programme in May 2022. Figures reported since sit at $81,000,000 to $82,000,000, and options and completion choices commonly add $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 or more. Our working range as of 2026 is $78,000,000 to $82,000,000 before options: indicative, confirmed per aircraft.

There is no used market to speak of yet. Early aircraft are going to fleets and repeat customers: NetJets took its first in March 2026 and plans 24, some of them converted 7500s. That leaves a Gulf buyer three real routes:

  1. A new order with Bombardier, priced off list plus options, with whatever delivery slot is open.
  2. A delivery position bought from an existing customer, usually at a premium for the earlier date. Read the escalation clauses before agreeing a number.
  3. A Global 7500 upgraded to 8000 standard. Bombardier offers the conversion by service bulletin, and VistaJet began converting 18 of its 7500s in April 2026. The conversion price has not been published, so we price each case with Bombardier directly.

The third route can be the quickest way to 8000 performance, provided the bulletin is approved for your serial number and your register. Our G700 vs Global 7500 vs Global 8000 comparison sets the three flagships side by side.

What we check before you commit

A new type has short records, so the diligence moves from logbooks to contracts. For a specific Global 8000 position or a converted 7500, we send photos and the full spec sheet over WhatsApp on request. Then we work through:

  • Whether the aircraft is factory-built or a converted 7500, with the service bulletin, its Transport Canada approval and your registry's acceptance on file
  • GE Passport engine program enrollment and exactly what transfers to you
  • Warranty start date and transferability, since the earliest clock started in December 2025
  • Delivery-slot contract, escalation clauses and the completion specification if you are buying a position
  • Cabin layout, four suites plus crew rest, and connectivity against how you actually fly
  • Full-fuel take-off performance for a July afternoon departure from Riyadh or Doha

Owning a Global 8000 in the Gulf: registry and VAT

In Saudi Arabia, GACA registers aircraft under Part 47 with the HZ- prefix. Qatar uses A7- under the QCAA, Oman A4O- under PACA and Bahrain A9C- under its Civil Aviation Affairs. Plenty of aircraft at this price stay offshore instead, on the Isle of Man (M-), San Marino (T7-), Cayman (VP-C) or Aruba (P4-) registers, for financing and resale reasons.

The tax gap between the four markets is large on an $80,000,000 aircraft. Saudi import VAT is 15% on the landed value, about $12,000,000 at that figure. Oman charges 5% and Bahrain 10%, while Qatar, with no VAT law enacted by September 2026, charges nothing. Civil aircraft are generally treated as exempt from the GCC's 5% common tariff, but the HS heading still has to be confirmed with customs in each country. Our Saudi Arabia buying page covers the Riyadh side in more depth.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Bombardier Global 8000 cost?

Bombardier's launch list price in May 2022 was US$78 million, and figures reported since sit around $81 to $82 million before options. Completion choices and options can add $5 to $10 million or more. Treat any figure as indicative as of 2026 and confirmed for the individual aircraft.

Is the Global 8000 faster than the Gulfstream G700?

On published figures, yes. Bombardier gives the Global 8000 a Mach 0.95 top speed, while Gulfstream lists Mach 0.935 as the G700's maximum operating speed. On long Gulf sectors both cruise well below those limits, so range and cabin usually decide the choice.

Can a Global 7500 be upgraded to a Global 8000?

Yes. A Bombardier service bulletin, delivered as engineering and software modifications, lifts eligible 7500s to the newer standard, and fleets such as VistaJet and NetJets are converting theirs. Confirm serial-number eligibility, approval status and cost with Bombardier before pricing a 7500 as a future 8000.

Can a Global 8000 fly nonstop from Riyadh to Los Angeles?

Riyadh to Van Nuys is about 7,160 nm great-circle, and the published range is 8,000 nm, so on paper it can. Winter headwinds, passenger load and reserve rules decide it on the day, and we ask the operator to run the mission before calling it nonstop.
